Cyclamen Europaeum
Known as "the pig's bread"; the juice squeezed out of the fresh root (harvested during the fall) is mixed with alcohol in equal parts. Since ancient times, this valuable plant has been the target of unfounded suspicions claiming it acts in a violent and uncertain way. Even if we should agree that Dioscorides was indeed referring to this plant, all he said about it only amounted to rumor.
