Gelsemium Sempervirens

Gelsemium sempervirens is a Gelsemiaceae Family vine, native from the temperate and tropical climates in North and Central America. All plant parts contain toxic alkaloids similar to strychnine and gelsemina and should not be consumed. The sap can cause skin irritation in sensitive people. Children, mistaking this flower with honeysuckle, can be poisoned by the flower nectar.
